Meet Henry, UH Rainbow’s 2024 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion!

Meet Henry, UH Rainbow’s 2024 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion. Henry was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April 2021 at just three-years-old. Over the next two and half years, Henry received weekly chemotherapy infusions, two 28-day rounds of a clinical trial, and endured countless hospital stays, lumbar punctures, blood draws, and transfusions.

Throughout the frequent hospital visits, Henry, lovingly referred to by his family as ‘The Big Happy,’ remained strong, finding joy in music therapy and visits from Melena, a UH Rainbow facility dog. In June 2023, 800 days after his journey began, Henry rang the bell signifying the end of his treatment. Today, Henry is six and is thriving in kindergarten!
